Photograph the outside, wheels and visible marks in good light. Make sure the vehicle is clean enough for an inspection and retain the pickup condition record.
Prepare the contents
Remove valuables and loose accessories. Discuss personal items with the carrier rather than assuming they can travel in the car. Secure anything that could move during loading.
Explain how the vehicle operates
Provide keys and instructions for alarms, transport mode or unusual starting procedures. Disclose leaks, mechanical faults and clearance restrictions, and confirm fuel or charge preparation with the carrier.
